Thoughts & Inspiration

For the past few years, I had been filled with anxiety and fear about what I was going to do with my life. And don’t get me wrong, I still don’t know where the Lord will lead me, but at least He has shown me where I am going after high school. The verse Joshua 1:9 has been a massive encouragement for me. It says, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Up until the moment I found out about the World Race, I had no idea what I was going to do. All I knew were these few things…

  • I wanted to travel
  • I wanted to take a gap year of some sort
  • I was considering a mission trip

Other than those three things, I was clueless. I researched Christian gap programs, and within about 10 minutes, I found this program. The instant I discovered it, I knew that it was the one I was supposed to do. It had everything that I had been looking for. Also, I couldn’t stop thinking or talking about it once I found it, even more so after I got accepted. One main thing was that I wasn’t nervous or sad about the thought of leaving home for so long or about having to raise so much money. I was only filled with pure joy, and for that reason, I was confident that this was from the Lord.

There are so many things I’m excited about, but I think one of the main things is how I’ll be discovering a new aspect of God in my life and how He moves and works. I can’t wait to see how He’s going to use me to help others and how my relationship with Him is going to grow.

As we get closer to my leaving, I’ll post more about each country I’ll be going to and what my team and I will be doing in each place. I’m so thankful that you guys are here with me along the way. Please check out my Instagram (my username is gabifish23) and continue to pray for my trip and about becoming a supporter. Supporting can look like a one-time donation of any amount or a monthly donation of any amount. Every dollor helps me, so please consider praying about donating. I’ll attach a link to my fundraising page right here.

Thank you so much for taking interest in my trip. I hope you’ll stick around to see the rest of my journey.
